Dorsky Museum of Art-New Paltz, New York

In celebration of the Hudson River School 400th Anniversary, we took a trip up to New Paltz to see the wonderful exhibition from the NY Historical Society. Seeing these paintings live is such a rush--I had only seen the Inness painting, "Hackensack Meadows, Sunset," in books, and what a difference seeing it in person! SUNY New Paltz was very protective of their painting collection--they watched us like hawks and didn't allow "pointing." Huh? Touching, I could understand, but pointing? I guess you could accidentally brush the painting with your finger if you pointed or something.
